Is ACN A Scam?

Is ACN a Scam?

Right now a lot of people have been accusing ACN as being a scam. ACN is a direct sales company, and companies like this often get confused with pyramid schemes and scams. Is ACN really a scam? This post will dive deep into this question and reveal the truth about ACN and other direct sales companies. You are most likely reading this post because you are curious about the company of someone who has approached you about joining. Good for you. You are doing your due diligence and researching the company before you join. Hopefully this post will give you a better idea of what ACN is all about and whether they are a company worth being a part of.

Before we dive into a review of ACN, let’s learn a little more about the company and its history.

According to ACN’s website:

“Founded in 1993, ACN was the vision of four entrepreneurs – Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Tony Cupisz and Mike Cupisz. These Co-Founders had countless years of direct sales experience between them, but were dissatisfied with other companies and job opportunities they had encountered. They realized that the only way to find a company they wanted to be a part of was to create that company.”

Since 1993, ACN has grown to provide essential services in 25 countries. ACN is also the largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy and other essential services for home and business.

So what does this all mean?

Basically, ACN sells essential services like phone, internet and energy through independent business owners (IBOs).

How do you get involved with ACN?

In order to make money with ACN, you have to sign up as an IBO. It cost $499 to start with ACN as an IBO. This is a higher start-up fee than most MLM’s. This is because when you join ACN, you don’t have to buy any products to sell. If you compare this fee to the cost of starting a traditional business, $499 is rather small. Once you pay the start-up fee, you are good to go, you can start selling ACN services immediately. It’s important to understand that when you sign-up as an IBO with ACN, you are exactly that, a business owner. You are responsible for growing your business and finding customers.

Recruiting others

As I’m sure you know, recruiting other people is a huge part of a MLM business model. ACN is no different. If you ask anyone that works or has worked with an MLM, they will tell you that the more people you recruit, the more commission you make off the services they sell. However, you make the most money when you grow your customer base.

This is where people start to blur the lines between legitimate MLM’s and scams. Multi-level-marketing is not for everyone. It takes someone who has a great work ethic. Starting your own business with ACN take long hours and hard work. However, many people trick themselves into thinking they can be successful. They will hear a pitch, and hear the amount of money they can make, and sign up. Many times, these people think that this opportunity will provide them with easy, fast money. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Just like anything else, working as an IBO requires a lot of hardwork and dedication.

When people realize that their road to success will be much harder than first anticipated, it’s human nature to blame someone else. This is where you get people calling ACN a scam. They FELT they were scammed because they didn’t make the money they wanted to. This is no one’s fault but their own.

Are MLMs and Pyramid Schemes the Same Thing?

Pyramid schemes have been around for a long time, centuries actually. It’s no secret, pyramid schemes are meant to prey on the weak and take advantage of good, hard working people. The word pyramid schemes gets thrown around a lot, but what exactly is a pyramid scheme? In a pyramid scheme, the purpose is to get more and more people to join. Why? Because when you join a pyramid scheme, you pay a fee, and a portion of the money goes to the person who recruited you, and a portion of that money goes to the person who recruited them, so on and so forth. A pyramid scheme thrives on people recruiting others, so the people at the top get the most money. What makes pyramid schemes illegal is this- they don’t offer an actual good or service. The process relies completely on finding others, with no actual product or service to offer. This is why pyramid schemes are highly unstable and collapse quickly.

MLM’s, direct sales, and network marketing are often grouped into the same breath as pyramid schemes. Admittedly, there are some similarities between the two, however there is one very important difference. MLMs actually offer real products and services. In an MLM, it doesn’t matter how many people you recruit; if you don’t sell the product and get customers, you won’t make any money.

Many reputable sources have spoken out on the differences between MLMs and pyramid schemes, including the U.S. Federal Trade Commission. They have said that MLMs, “have a real product to sell. More importantly, MLMs actually sell their product to members of the general public, without requiring these consumers to pay anything extra or to join the MLM system. MLMs may pay commissions to a long string of distributors, but these commission are paid for real retail sales, not for new recruits.”

So, is ACN a Pyramid Scheme?

ACN is most definitely not a pyramid scheme. If you recall, pyramid schemes don’t offer real products or services. ACN offers services people use everyday including internet, Satellite TV, wireless, gas and electricity, solar power, and much more.

ACN works with business like Vivint, Dish, Direct TV, Century Link and many more. If ACN was in fact a pyramid scheme, would these businesses, who have worked hard to maintain a good reputation, risk going into business with a scam? The answer is no. These companies would not put their reputation on the line if they thought there was even small chance of ACN being an illegitimate company. Those people who have accused ACN of being a pyramid scheme are simply misinformed. Because the word “pyramid scheme” is used so carelessly, it has lost its true meaning. Get educated and learn the differences between illegal scams and legitimate businesses.

Here is a video explaining the difference between direct sales companies and illegal pyramid schemes.

Don’t take my word for it

If you really want to find out if ACN is a legitimate business or not, look to a credible source. One of the most credible sources out there (when it comes to reviewing a business) is the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The BBB was founded in 1912. It’s purpose is to help advance trust in the marketplace. While the BBB is not apart of the government, it has provided millions of honest reviews, exposing bad business practices and revealing the truth behind the curtains. When reviewing a company, the BBB rates a business on 7 elements and 13 factors. These factors are as follows:

  1. Business’s complaint history with BBB
  2. Type of business
  3. Time in business
  4. Transparent Business Practices
  5. Failure to honor commitments to BBB
  6. Licensing and government actions known to BBB
  7. Advertising issues known to BBB

What does all this mean?

If you remember, I said earlier that in order to really understand how a business operates, you need to check a credible source. We have established that the BBB is a credible source. With all of that said, what rating does ACN have? The ACN’s review from the BBB is an A+. This means that they score extremely well on the factors and elements listed above. Do you really think that ACN would receive such high praise from an accredited review platform if the business is a scam? The answer is no. I have read a lot of reviews about ACN and all the negative sites fail to mention this piece of information. It would seem like this is an important piece of information and it would be unfair to leave it out.

So, is ACN a scam?

To put it clearly, NO. ACN is not a scam. They are accused of being a scam because people weren’t as successful as they had hoped. They knew that this was not an easy road, but they took the risk and it didn’t turn out well (probably because they thought it would be easy). If you are thinking about getting involved with ACN, know that you will be required to work hard. It won’t be an easy road, but with time, hard work and consistent effort, you can enjoy the freedom of being your own boss – not to mention, create a supplemental income stream.

Are You Meant To Be In Network Marketing?

Network marketing, sometimes referred to as multi-level marketing (or MLM), often gets a bad rap. There is lots of misinformation and strong opinions about network marketing and those who participate in such. However, it’s important to recognize that each network marketing opportunity is unique and many such opportunities provide people with a lifestyle that they otherwise might never have experienced.

You may be curious about network marketing for yourself. Perhaps a friend or family member is involved and is encouraging you to give it a try. As you contemplate moving forward, ask yourself the following questions to determine if network marketing is right for you:

Do You Consider Yourself to Be Coachable?

To be successful in network marketing, you must allow yourself to be coached by those who have been where you hope to be and have risen in the ranks within the network. In network marketing, everyone comes together to achieve and one person’s success affects other members positively. Network marketing groups are great at coming together regularly to train members, encourage others, and teach the tools for success.

Are You a Self-Starter and Self-Motivated?

Network marketing is an entrepreneurial endeavor in many ways so those who are able to really take the bull by the horns and motivate themselves to achieve and conquer are those who do the best in the long run. If you consider yourself a self-motivated person with a strong inner drive to achieve, you have the potential to see fantastic results.

Do You Connect Well With Others?

The world of network marketing is just that: a network. The ability to connect with others is one of the top attributes of those who do really well in the network marketing business. Not only will you want to get along well with those who are already in your network, a natural ease with people, in general, will go a long way in growing your network and securing new members.

Are You Patient and Hardworking?

It takes some patience to get off the ground in network marketing. It also takes a lot of hard work and consistent effort. Those who are at the top are there because of they’ve put in the hard work and shown patience as their lives progress toward more freedom and financial independence. If you’re prepared to put in the work and exercise patience as you grow, an opportunity in network marketing might work well for you.

Will You Take Charge?

Many people who join network marketing do so as a side hobby or venture and aren’t prepared to treat it like a business by putting in the proper time. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on your new business in network marketing everyday as you help it grow and look at it as a long-term venture instead of just a side job. In the end, it will be up to you to decide if you succeed or fail depending on the effort and time you put in.

For those who have the qualities listed above and are ready to take control of their future and finances while independently running their own business through network marketing, there are many companies, such as ACN Inc, that is ready to welcome you and teach you the ropes so you can get started today.

Why Network Marketers Need Social Media

Social media isn’t just for personal use. Every business, even small businesses such as ACN, must play a proactive role on social platforms.

Here are some facts from a global study to prove why it is considered an indisputably indispensable tool for network marketers:

  • 89% of consumers surveyed use internet search engines to make purchasing decisions.
  • 42% of those surveyed currently follow a brand on social media.
  • 79% percent say they do it to learn more about the brand.

Another study showed that 72% of salespeople using social media as part of their sales process outperformed their peers.

Finally, IBM found that a full 75% of respondents to their survey said they were likely to use social media as part of their purchasing decision.

Here are four ways network marketers can use social media to build their business and grow their profits.

To Educate

Buyers don’t want to spend their money on a product they don’t understand. Take the time to educate prospects on every detail of your product. What exactly is it? Where did it originate? What can it do for them? What studies are backing your claims?

A fantastic way to do this is by writing content that can be posted on your facebook wall, pinned on Pinterest, published on your own website, and submitted to other online blogs.

Get creative with these articles. Expand on each topic separately. Write a Frequently Asked Questions page. Film a video of someone giving a tutorial on the product. Use professional, high-quality pictures.

To Gain Attention

The biggest hurdle in selling products is gaining the attention from the masses. Well, the masses are online so that’s right where you should be, too.

If you can come up with a quirky meme or hilarious parody that will be shared over and over again, you’re golden.

To Garner Positive Customer Reviews

Have you thought about sending some samples of your products to specific members of the blogging community for them to review? You should!

Many active bloggers with huge followings are begging for new products to try themselves and then they share the experience with their followers. It’s an ingenious way for others to realize the great items you have to offer them.

And don’t forget that they will be linking directly to your website or contact info!

To Recruit

When it comes to recruiting for your MLM business, social media can be your new best friend…if you use it wisely.

Starting a conversation online is not only really easy to do but is also a great low-pressure situation for the person you are conversing with on the other side.

You probably already have quite a few Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest friends along with plenty of Instagram and Twitter followers. Start there and then branch out to find new followers and friends.

Whatever you do, don’t be spammy. Just start a simple conversation and let it flow naturally. If they are not interested, no harm done. If they are interested in more information about running their own business, you’ve provided a win-win situation for both of you!

Honestly, if you aren’t using social media for expanding your business, you will be left behind. Many of your competitors are already doing it and there are so many advantages that doing so just makes good business sense.

The Network Marketing Place

If you are like me you have tried many many ways to make some money on the net. I mean you have tried network marketing company after network marketing company. You have surfed late nites trying to click on as many advertisements as humanly possible. Remember back in the day when you could click on other people’s ads and some companies would pay you something like 5cents per ad. I know I am old when I can remember this going on. Then, there was this deal where they would pay you for your opinion on various topics.

Yes, those  were the days, the early days of internet marketing. I am not going to bore you with all these little memories of the past, because I am more concerned with your future. I know that so many small business owners have no idea how to get started or even the wanna-be business owner has no clue of what to do.

How to Actually Rank For Any KEYWORD With a Legitimate Search Engine – Free Useful Tips

Online Business, Promotion and Marketing

Not only can Google send you a boatload of free traffic – it’s also highly targeted, and it’s one of the best ways to drive business.

The problem is, that exact same ideal is shared with thousands of your direct competitors. This creates an environment where you’ll always be fighting, kicking and scratching to maintain your traffic – along with the ever present fear that your livelihood is only one “algorithm update” away from vanishing.

And that’s if you can even get ranked for any decent keyword, to begin with…

In fact, only the largest, most-established authority sites can reliably see consistent traffic from Google. And even then, their rankings fluctuate constantly – several times a day, in some cases.

The fact is – it’s getting harder and harder for the “little guy” to get any kind of meaningful web presence on the web these days.

Getting ranked in Google is almost impossible unless you’ve got a major promotional budget and some time on your hands to “wait” for your domain to become trusted (Google favors older domains). And advertising with pay-per-click ads isn’t affordable like it once was.

Search marketing has finally become what everyone feared it would – a game reserved for big business.

But what if there was still a way to legitimately rank for keywords with tons of traffic?

And what if you could do this without having to spend months and even years building up an authority site to do so?

In fact – what if you could systematically create one-page mini-sites that could rapidly rank in the top 3 spots (consistently) for basically any keyword you target within a matter of a week or so?

Is this for real?

But not with Google.

It’s happening right now, as we speak, on

Now – before you think it – yes, I know, MSN doesn’t have nearly the reach that Google does. But, it still does receive millions and millions of search users daily. After all – MSN is the default home-page for anyone who first uses Internet Explorer.

And, to put it in perspective, which would drive more traffic?

Occupying the #1 ranking for your most desirable keyword target on MSN?

Or occupying the #47 spot on page 5 of Google’s results?

Sadly, it’s actually more effort to make it to the 47th spot in Google than it is to literally dominate in MSN.

High-quality backlinks pointing back to it – in other words, doing SEO the “right way” – you would only get good rankings for “long-tail” keywords in

There is no way in hell that you could dominate the ultra-competitve spots like we can. Zero chance.

It’s just not going to happen with traditional SEO. If you don’t believe us – try it. You’ll soon see that it’s only possible to reliably get good rankings for long-tail, obscure keywords.

But if you use what we’re about to show you – you can nail the most competitive keywords in your market with systematic ease on MSN.
